Instructions

1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the egg, milk, and vanilla extract.

3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until you have a smooth batter.

4. Transfer the batter to a piping bag or a resealable plastic bag with a corner snipped off.

5. Heat about 2 inches of vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot to 350°F (180°C).

6. Pipe the batter in long strips into the hot oil, making sure to leave enough space between each fry.

7. Fry the strips for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and crispy.
